Tracy Chapman Is Suing Nicki Minaj Over ‘Baby Can I Hold You’ Sample

According to TMZ, back in June Nicki and her team made requests to license Tracy Chapman’s “Baby Can I Hold You” for Nicki’s song ‘Sorry’ to be featured on her album ‘Queen’ but were rejected each time. Chapman says her lyrics make up half of the song. Despite the rejections, the song was played on the radio. Nicki did pull the song from the album but Tracy feels it’s too late and she’s coming for her coins—and to keep the song from being released.
