18 year old Dalton Shaffer, manager of Steve’s Pizza in Battle Creek, Michigan drove nearly 225 miles to deliver a pizza to a man in late stage cancer. The pizzeria got a call from a man who said his son-in-law, Rich Morgan, was in hospice and that a card from his favorite pizza spot would brighten his day. Morgan had planned to visit Battle Creek but was too sick to make the trip. Shaffer decided to go a step further than sending a card, and drove out to Indiana where Morgan was being treated to deliver him his favorite pizza.

Morgan’s wife posted a heartfelt thank you on her Facebook, “I am beyond overwhelmed and humbled by this act of genuine kindness. Dalton brought our family so much joy—and the best pizza in the world—at a really difficult time.”
