North Philly Native, ‘Quinny from Philly’ Rocks The Stage With Beyonce

Quinetta Wilmington is living the dream. Though she never had any formal dance training growing up, ‘Quinny from Philly’ stuck to her guns and her grind and made her way to the front lines of the OTR tour along side Queen Bey.  “My mom couldn’t afford that. I just watched dancing on television and mimicked it, until the moves felt right in my body. My mom eventually told me that I used to sing and dance to TV commercials,” Quinetta said, according to the Philly Voice. The north Philly Native made her way out to California in 2009 where she took on some dance classes, networked and booked performances with Usher, Iggy Azalea, Tinashe, and even Rihana.

Not too long after Quinny got the call to dance in Beyonce’s 7/11 video and the rest is history. “She requires strength and excellence from everyone she works with because she requires double from herself,” Quinetta says of Beyonce. She’s appeared in performances such as The 2013-2014 Mrs. Carter Show World Tour, HBO’s Lemonade spectacular, 2016’s Formation World Tour, and Beyoncé’s guest appearance during the Super Bowl 50 halftime show.

Of course, Wilmington took the stage when Jay and Bey hit her hometown of Philadelphia this past week. “It’s really family-oriented, moreso than any tour I’ve ever been on,” Wilmington said about The Carters’ show. “They work together to make it a great show.”

Congrats, Quinny! Keep following your dreams, guys!
