The diva of all divas is back to work.

Mariah Carey has been busy rocking out in Las Vegas and her residency will continue into 2019 with her “The Butterfly Returns” show. That’s not the only thing MC has been working on these days. The iconic singer has been posting pics of herself in the studio and she told PEOPLE that she’s been working on her new project for a minute now. “I’ve been working on my new album for a while. This is a labor of love and I’m really excited,” Mariah said. “This is me at this moment in my life being able to express myself as a writer and a singer. I’m just really in a good place.”
