NBA superstar, J.R. Smith is reportedly under investigation by the NYPD for stealing a fan’s cell phone and throwing it into a construction site. TMZ reports that J.R. was hanging out out the swanky eatery/night spot ‘The Park’ in Chelsea NYC when a fan asked to snap a picture. J.R. declined but it seems like the fan went ahead and took the picture anyway. The fan claims J.R. snatched the phone out of his hand and threw it into a construction site close by. He’s now filed a lawsuit against the NBA player, however, J.R.’s attorney says the claim is worthless. “The claim is nonsense and we do not have anything to say about nonsense,” Attorney Alex Spiro said.
