So, Chick-fil-A has this tradition, where when it opens a new location, the owner invites the neighborhood to camp out over night and the first 100 customers into the restaurant receive coupons for free Chick-fil-A sandwiches for year. They call it ‘First 100’. Sources from the franchise say that things get pretty interesting during these camp outs and participants pitch tents, have dance parties and play games.
A Chick-fil-A spokesperson told TODAY Food via email that the measure was added to make sure locals took the spoils … and professional campers didn’t gain an unfair advantage. “The First 100 celebration is our franchise owner-operator’s introduction to the local community,” the spokesperson said. “We want to ensure those neighbors, whom they will be serving at that location in the future, have a seat at the table in welcoming and getting to know their neighborhood Chick-fil-A.” (TODAY)
Chick-fil-A is delicious, but, would you go that far?
