On May 6th, celebrities and designers flocked to the Metropolitan Museum of Art for its annual Met gala, celebrating the Costume Institute’s newest exhibition “Camp: Notes on Fashion”. In order to capture that utterly eccentric aesthetic sensibility (described so persuasively in Susan Sontag’s 1964 essay “Notes on ‘Camp’ ”), celebrities drew on fashions both silly and sublime. The 2019 Met Gala was definitely not lacking spectacular red carpet moments. From Lady Gagato Katy Perry, Kendall Jenner to Gigi Hadid, guests transformed the party’s venerable venue into a feather- and flounce-filled fantasia—each doing their best to step up to the grand occasion.
Thats wonderful, but comedian Tiffany Haddish had other things on her mind, like food:
I respect it…cant drink on an empty stomach!
