Nicki Minaj Discusses Witnessing Domestic Abuse As A Child In New ‘Queen’ Documentary

Nicki Minaj posted some clips of her upcoming documentary, ‘Queen’, to her IG recently, where she discusses witnessing her mother as a victim of domestic abuse at the hands of her father. “I remember when my mother would let my father be violent with her. As a little girl, I would stand in front of my mother,” Nicki explained. “That’s why maybe some people would describe me as abrasive or bitchy or whatever, because I vowed from that age, no man would ever abuse me, call out my name, treat me like that—and then all of a sudden, that was my life.”

The rap super star talked about her own experiences within an abusive relationship, which, she explained, kept her from creating music.

Though Nicki didn’t mention any names of ex-boyfriends, Meek Mill low key dropped a subliminal IG post about women who lie about abuse. The post was super serious but for some reason, he captioned it with, “Lol.”
