Jada Pinkett Smith Talks Sex and Self Pleasure On Red Table Talk

In her latest episode of Red Table Talk, Jada Pinkett, her mom, her daughter, Willow, and Willow’s friend, Telana tackled the sometimes awkward topic of sexuality.  Jada explained early on in the conversation that she wanted Willow to be open and shameless when it came to discussing sexuality. “I did not want Willow to have shame of any kind—you know, when you can talk to your mother who’s been through a whole lot in regards to sex—I wouldn’t say I’m a connoisseur, but I’m 47, so, enough said,” Jada said.

Willow explained that she and her friend Telana are very open when it comes to talking about sex and she also explained that her experiences talking to her famous dad about sex are much different than those with her mother. “Whenever I talk to Dad about it, it’s always an intellectual debate—it’s always like, ‘Speaking of the degradation of females and the past, how do you believe that trickles in to your experience?’ It’s very serious, but it’s not emotional. And I always feel like the stuff of life is meant to be lived, not analyzed.”

Jada took it further, saying she knew the very night her son Jaden lost his virginity and she even divulged her grandmother had taught her about masturbation at the age of nine. Jada said that by 21 she was experimenting and addicted to giving herself multiple orgasms. “I think by your age, I gave myself multiples first—multiple orgasms. I was really into it at one point. Just because I was in an exploration state and I was abstaining from men. And I actually think I went through kind of an addiction, too, with it. And then one day, I was just like, ‘Enough. You’re having five orgasms a day.’ Yeah, you get addicted. You can create so much pleasure, you constantly want it.”

Got to respect healthy and open conversation about sexuality among women. Kudos to Jada and her family.
